Centrex Technologies has announced a new internet based OR Surgical Pack information system that utilizes the latest RFID and internet technologies.

This new system allows for reusable OR Pack items to be individually tagged using RFID chips and then assembled into a wide range of pack recipes that are easily set-up and managed within the system. Packs are then assigned to customers as per their daily order requirements.

Pack Room efficiency is greatly improved using the new Linenweb OR Pack system. Items are scanned on receipt using RFID tag readers positioned beneath the inspection light-tables. Operators are alerted to any testing or repair requirements immediately upon scanning. Pack assemblers are stepped through each item in a pre-arranged packing sequence and the packs are assigned an individual identifier. Customer orders can then be filled using mobile handheld computers and weighed with scales integrated directly to the Linenweb OR Pack System.

Pack management is also greatly improved with comprehensive history for each individual tagged item, monitoring systems for pack allocation and aging plus a wide range of management reports including usage analysis, item trends, delivery summaries and plant and operator performance. Customers can place orders on-line, have standard allocated orders or have orders automatically placed dependent on their usage. Customers can also send alerts for damaged items, infectious contacts etc. and these will be highlighted immediately when the item is next scanned in.
