Linenweb® Pro System for Hospitals and Hotels

The Linenweb® Pro Laundry Tracking System combines the world’s leading linen management and tracking system with options for Uniform Management, RFID Item Tracking, RFID Cubical Curtain Management and RFID Slings Management.

The Base System Option uses RFID Mobile Handheld Computers with Linenweb® RFID Mobile Software and WiFi to do all of the RFID scanning with the Linenweb® Laundry Tracking Pro System then being used for system management and reporting.

Base Linenweb RFID System for Hospitals and Hotels

The above is designed as a low-cost entry point for RFID Linen and Uniform Management System at hospitals and Hotels. The system uses RFID Mobile Handheld Computers to do all scanning manually. This includes:

  • New linen or uniform item registration
  • Soiled linen or uniform collection
  • Soiled linen or uniform dispatch to external laundry
  • Clean linen or uniform receipt from external laundry
  • Clean linen distribution to various departments
  • Clean uniform assignment to employees
  • Item audits, multiple item audits and trash audits
  • All mobiles upload to the Centrex Data Center using WiFi internet
  • System configuration, management and reporting is then available on the Linenweb® Pro system which is cloud based

Expanded Linenweb RFID System for Hotels

The Expanded Laundry Tracking System Option uses automatic Linenweb® RFID Virtual Portal for the scanning of linen and uniforms entering and leaving from the external laundry, RFID controlled counters for uniform issue, RFID soiled chutes for soiled uniform return and RFID Mobile Units for tracking linen deliveries around the hotel and tracking to hotel rooms. This allows guest linen losses to be minimized with option to recharge guests through integration with hotel guest management system. This RFID Virtual Portal system allows scanning of complete linen and uniform carts as they pass through and is much more accurate and less labor intensive than using Mobile scanners alone.

Expanded Linenweb RFID System for Large Hospitals

The Expanded System Option uses automatic Linenweb® RFID Scan Portals for the scanning of linen and uniforms, RFID controlled counters for uniform issue, RFID soiled chutes for soiled uniform return and RFID Smart Cabinets for issue of scrubs on the various hospital floors. This RFID Portal system allows scanning of complete linen and uniform carts as they pass through and is much more accurate and less labor intensive than using Mobile Handheld scanners alone.

The system as illustrated has been implemented at a number of large hospitals to track and control their linen and uniform inventories. Three types of RFID Portals are used, with the automatic models being controlled by an on-site server that uploads to the Centrex Data Center. This system includes:

  • RFID Registration Portal for initial registration of newly tagged linen and uniforms
  • Directional RFID Portal to scan soiled uniforms and linen IN from wards and clinics
  • Directional RFID Portal then scans soiled linen and uniforms OUT to external laundry by taking through in opposite direction. Wash count is incremented at this point
  • Standard Portal to scan clean unforms and linen IN on receipt from external laundry
  • Directional RFID Portal to scan clean linen OUT to wards on exchange carts or top-up carts doing automated QA check for packing. Also scans clean uniforms to Uniform Room
  • Directional RFID Portal then scans exchanged carts and top up carts returning from wards. This creates separate replenishment orders
  • RFID Counters to do uniform assignments
  • RFID Soiled Uniform Chutes to scan returned uniforms
  • RFID Smart Cabinets for automated scrub issue to staff
  • RFID Mobile Handheld Computers for item audits, multi-item audits and trash scans
  • Local server with Linenweb® RFID Server Software controls automatic portals
  • System configuration, management and reporting is then available on the Linenweb® Pro system which is cloud based

Hospitals and hotels can access a wide range of valuable reports which allow the tracking of unit usage, allocation of unit costs, analysis of unit performance, tracking of patient days and potentially big savings through loss elimination and inventory optimization along with streamlining and automation of work practices.

The extensive range of reports are available in either on screen, printed or exported in Adobe or Excel format. These and easily accessible anywhere you have internet available providing you meet the required security. A range of graphs are also available along with a “my favorites” report facility.

The system is currently deployed in over 2,000 large and small hospitals and hotels worldwide, including many of the world’s most prestigious and best known facilities. It can be deployed as a single system, a system across multiple sites within a group, with each site having their own separate system with single supervisory level access integrating the sites, or integrated as part of a single or multi-laundry operation.
